It’s seems that no single style is popular with celebrities. Some have modern designs; others have very traditional designs. The designs they have take influence from all different corners of the world. The quality of the designs varies a lot as well. Some looked like they were done by professional henna artists while others looked more DIY style.
Madonna was photographed with a traditional Moroccan style design on her hands and fingers (that’s the one I’ve attempted to recreate in the image).
Beyonce had a full intricate Indian style arm-to-hand design.
Katy Perry went for a simplified Indian style paisley design.
Jessica Simpson had an Indian style elephant.
Kelis was photographed with a very bold, thick design which reminds me a bit of Sudanese style henna. This type of henna looks particularly good on people with dark skin, as thicker lines are used to create more contrast.
Russell Brand had an Indian Mandala style circular pattern on his hand.
Selena Gomez had her name in henna on her back with some stars next to it.
Katherine Macphee was seen showing off a floral henna design on her foot.
Vanessa Hudgens has been seen with several different henna designs on her hands.
And the list goes on and on.... I’m not surprised henna is popular with celebrities as it’s a great addition to a party outfit and designs can be custom - made and personalised to suit any style.
